Day 21

We all up early today is the The teddy bears go fishing we hope. Our pickUp time is 7.30 am they're late ,arrive 15 minutes late . We are now on the boat , this takes us 1 1/2 hrs? It like walking into Jurassic park. The boat let us Of while the motor is running, we climb up the beach to the rangers hut,get the safety pitch,then onward along the walkway ,and the creek is not a creek because there has been 6 inches of rain in the pass two days . Our guide is telling us this may make it hard to see the Bears fishing ,my heart felt sad as the dream may not come true. We arrive at the area where the Bears should be and it is in flood , water rushing and pound though this narrow canyon , no Bears. But wait out of the wilderness comes the first bear, a black bear and he or she is actually going fishing . Got one we cry, the Bear take the Salmon up the hill and starts ripping it apart, finishes it ,then disappears. The next Bear doesn't arrive for a least 40 minutes ,like watching paint dry except it is pouring rain as it has done for most of our trip.

When this bear appeared it seemed to set the bear feed alarm off as suddenly we seeing a bear here, a bear there ,a bear everywhere, magical ,they're all black bear no grizzlies,shame that. One after the other they go down to the river to fish and each one gets a fish ,one actually eats one then goes fishing again,another eat his fish then climbs up the hill , scurries under some bushes and pull out one hidden for Ron.

This is what I expected and more, just missed The grizzly. It has been a long day as it is well after 3 when we get back, mainly because the jet boat got a small stick stuck in the engine,there is a photo this affected the engine so we need to stop and the assistant had to work to get this stick free ,eventually he did, he was our hero. Well tomorrow we fly to Juneau to start another adventure ,praying for sunshine, some are saying that we are developing web Feet.
