We are traveling to Ephesus to look at a town that in its hayday had 250,000 people living there. There were many different tribes which included the Romans, which would rule this town because of its important as a trade port. It was the Romans that poured the money into it to make it look like it was a place to do business.
The river silted the port thus making the town lose its reason for being ,plus there were diseases that kill off a lot of the town folk. So with all this happening the town became a ghost town. And by 11 hundred A.D. the town was left to be cover in dust and dirt .
It was not discovered again to140 years ago and only 25% has been found . The experts say that it may take another 300year for all of it to be unearth. Ephesus is famous for the seventh wonder of the world, theTemple of Artemis.
We the went to lunch ,buffet style , good only. Then we went to look at three more historical areas captured on photo.
Tomorrow we travel to our last part of our tour which include Gallipoli looking forward to this ,but for now it me signing off and wishing you all the best . Goodnight
