Hi all, 2nd day of our Turkish coastline tour. We set sail at 9 this morning under a burning sun and a clear sky. Where we are heading is a mystery as we are on 2 boats and our guide is on the other one . Our boat is beautiful and the crew friendly and helpful but that old problem of the language barrier is our only problem. We motor sailed for roughly 2hrs till we came to what seemed like a boat parking station. There boats anchored left, right and centre. Yachts , extremely large motor cruisers, run abouts and now us. We stay for about 3hrs, swimming and snorkelling.
On the move again only for a small amount of time ,this time the crew knew how to say Cleopatra Bay. It was called this as there were old ruins that are supposed to be her bathing area, pretty spot and protected. This also had boats everywhere. We stayed here for the rest of the day and it allow the two groups to get back together for first time since the cruise began. Just when we’re settling for the night the captain moved the boat into another bay with more protection, so that the boat will not rock to much during the night.
The food on these boats is amazing when you look at their galleys. Our meals today were as good as any fine restaurant. I’ve taken pictures and they will be in the album.
The heat is too much for Shirley so tonight she is going to sleep on the ship’s deck. There is one full day and night to go then we start the second part of this tour which will take in Gallipoli, I can’t wait.
So again the time has come to say goodnight, we will see each other in the next blog.
Thinking of you all,
Shirley and John.
