Today we explore the old town of Corfu. Already we have found that it is like Italy except the cobble stone streets have much larger marble stones. The rest of the building are picture perfect to any of the European country we been to. Our hotel is well located a again in that everything we need to see was in walking distance.
The breakfast a hotel consisted of fresh orange juice ,mix fruit ,yogurt, walnuts and honey, plus coffee and croissants, it was a gem.
Bellies full we have the strength to go forth and explore this 585 sq kilometre Island, even if we are only exploring the small part which is the old town. Excited at this we automatically run into a hitch there is little or no English written on the street sign or anything for that matter. We are harden explorers ,I wish and we push on regardless which in this world means there are too many chiefs and not enough Indian. A few squabbles on which way to go ,but compare to driving in Italy it’s a breeze. We need to find a massage place ,and we found it three times but didn’t know because there was the tiniest English which had blended in with all the Greek writing. We had used google map so we need roughly where it was ,we asked the locals ,but they speak little English and I speak two words of Greek By 4pm we had found it thank goodness. We also found the ticket office for the Ferry to Paxos which is where we head tomorrow , we found restaurants which specialised in sea food which was wonderful for our dinner. The main picture is of a cocktail that Shirley has taken to her heart . She tells me it is god’s creation. Unfortunately there is very little good wines on this Greek island but that’s ok if you have a cocktail
