Goodbye Tanzania,we are taking our last safari and are hoping it will be one of the best from all the hype we have heard. Up to catch the sun rising and in the park before the sun is high ,our hope is to see more lions and rhinos. The first thing that became evident that these bigger animals were going to be hard to find.plenty of Zebras, hyenas, wilder beast and such but not what everyone was looking for. 2hrs past not a sighting we driving around like headless chooks looking for the invisible creatures. Rhinos were spotted but they were so far way I would have to have been superman to get a clear picture of them. Off we went again just driving driving with no idea where to look , hold the phone is that an elephant, wow yes it is , these were about 200 meters from us,they looked like babies. We continue our drive always a long way away from most animals , when a call on the radio "jumbo abbé roger, roger jumbo abbé ,which meant we think lion, on our right was a full grown male lion ,we got some great camera shots but he was to far way for the IPad. That was to be the last exciting spotting by any jeep in the next two hrs. by this time we asked for an early lunch and decided to give Simon the arvo off.
Shirley had decided to give the leftover food to any Maasai herd boy we saw on the way home , she had done this when we crossed the Serengeti border and the group of boys loved it,so when we stopped the car this young Maasai boy thought we had stop to buy his trinkets but when Shirley offered the food box andWater the boy said thank you and gave Shirley the trinket, a Maasai dream catcher, Shirley said that this is a moment she will remember forever forget.
Off to Rwanda so blog will be a bit out of sequence unless those gorillas have learnt about wi-fi.
Bye for now,
Luv Shirley &John
