Florence Day 2

This morning we decided to sleep in a bit and have a more leisurely breakfast. After breakfast we checked out of our wonderful room and set off on an artisan's walk through some of the local streets. We found a couple of interesting shops including leather, costume jewellery and bead work. The skills of the craftspeople was quite remarkable.

After a brief return visit to the Central Market and some lunch we headed off to have a walk through Santa Croce to look at some of the famous people buried there including Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini and Machiavelli. The church had a nice stained glass window behind the altar and many of the usual frescos and altars throughout.

After our visit we treated ourselves to a gelato before returning to collect our bags. We travel on the final train leg of our trip from Florence to Rome. As usual I have uploaded some photos.
