We arrived into Frankfurt early this morning after a 12 hour flight from Hong Kong. Thankfully were able to get the hotel room early so we could freshen up before going out for a walk around town.
We sampled the local food for lunch with a bratwurst on a roll with tomato ketchup and mustard. It was simple, but delicious. After lunch we continued into the centre of Frankfurt where we visited Goethe House where Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was born.
"Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was a German writer and statesman. His body of work includes epic and lyric poetry written in a variety of metres and styles; prose and verse dramas; memoirs; an autobiography.."
We then continued our journey down to the Main River. A very picturesque scene indeed. We continued further into town stopping for a quick drink, beer for me and wine for Nicole.
After that we meandered back to the hotel where we had a brief nap to help overcome the jet lag.
In the evening we ventured back into town for a quiet dinner before returning to the hotel to try and reset our body clocks.
Tomorrow is our first organised tour to Heidelberg and Rosenberg.
