Uneventful but long fly from Atlanta to Joberg / about 15 hours. Delta wanted $5309 each one way to upgrade to first class. Said no. Sat in bulkhead seat, so we had plenty of leg room but could not lie down. Food was good.

Seatmate was Rob Wright, age 60, retired banker and computer guy from SA. Had two strokes in 2010, can hardly walk but travels all over. Had been to Charleston SC to study photography. Wife a doctor. Daughter lives in UK, just had baby, going to visit her in July. Still drives. Scary. Made trip go quickly. Have his email.

Met at airport by Jaris. 45 min ride to Southern Sun Hyde Park. Nice Hotel.
Went to mall connected to hotel for supper. Had breakfast at 7 PM.

Explored mall but nothing open.
