We explored Alice Springs today; starting with a look around town. There were some lovely shops and I bought a lovely aboriginal painting on canvas, with a certificate of authenticity and details on the artist.

We went over to the Royal Flying Doctor Service museum and were given a talk on the start of the service, shown a holographic film and had a look at the items on display.

After this we caught a taxi to Alice Springs Desert Park, where we heard talks on nocturnal desert animals, natural pharmacy in the desert, a talk about dingos and finally watched a flying bird show. The Australian Kite's in flight were beautiful. After the talks, we took a leisurely walk around the park, meeting the emus and the kangaroos.
