Early start this morning. It just so happened that Morgan and I had the same flight to China. From there she had a connecting flight to Seoul and I to Manila. She is going to Seoul to visit her boyfriend who is teaching in South Korea.
We caught a taxi at 6am to the airport. Everything went smoothly and we had some breakfast at the airport. Our flight was quick, just over an hour long. Once we got to China we found out Morgan needed a China visa to get on her flight. They said it was because she was flying with Korea Air, but it didn't make sense to me. Anyways we said goodbye and she frantically ran off with the flight attendant to try and get her visa and catch the flight in her short layover time. I didn't need a visa and I had lots of time waiting around for my flight to Manila.
Once arriving in Manila I took a taxi to the hotel where I met my new group. The group meeting started at 6pm and I was a bit late because of traffic. I got a chance to meet everyone at dinner. They are all lovely people with great stories. I am rooming with Sarah from Australia. After dinner, we just headed back to the hotel and had an early night.
Tomorrow we have an early flight to the island of Palawan. The accommodations are going to be basic, so I may not be able to post much while I am in the Philippines.
