Today we traveled by bus to Sihanoukville, the Miami of Cambodia. Our hotel is the Golden Sands Hotel and is only a few minute walk from the beach.
I dropped my laundry off at a tattoo place close to the hotel. The price is $0.75/kg!!
We went down to the beach for lunch. I had crab and a coconut shake. The shakes here are so good! They peel the fruit fresh and just blend it with ice. My favorites are the coconut, pineapple, watermelon and mango shakes.
Then we went for a swim in the ocean and lounged in the beach chairs. It is nice to have a quiet relaxing day at the beach. We have been going pretty hard each day.
We went back to the same restaurant for dinner and had a seafood BBQ. We had prawns, barracuda and squid. The shrimp still had eyes and the barracuda was good. I still can't do squid though.
After dinner we went out to one of the local bars.
The bars in Cambodia seem to cater to westerners. The one we went to even had a pool. They even hire westerners to promote their bars and to get the party going. Not a bad summer job.
