hello! have had a thoroughly enjoyable few days you shall be glad to know! basically the thing that you go to in Siem Reap is Angkor. its a bunch of temples just north of the city and is AMAZING! the Angkor Empire was big in like the 10th century or something - seriously big - it was like the whole o asia or something and powerful and something to be proud of! kinda like the british empire but a million times better - just realised i dont know what im talking about so i shall stop! so anyway. yeah - costs quite a lot for a 3 day pass but defo worth it. yesterday we didnt get up till lid orn so got there for about lunch time. we had a little tuk tuk driver to take us round the site as its huge. saw angkor thom which is the ancient city with bayon inside which is cool and saw angkor wat - the really famous one - it is ace but there are SO MANY TOURISTS. its stupid and such a shame - i mean bus loads of them. its kind of disgusting that they all have stupid long lens cameras - i swear theyre compensating for something else... ha! anyway. got back and went straight to bed - which is kind of a shame as there are some beautiful bars and stuff around. today - got up at half 4 - oh my god - to catch sunrise over angkor wat - but guess what - it was cloudy so just got lighter. GRRRRRRR! saw some smaller temples and stuff today - dave has good pics me thinks. all overgrown - i felt like lara croft.... if only! ah well. er, cambodia is nice but there is such complete poverty alongside wealth. its kinda strange, its also sad the amount of children with no future prospects or anything. kids who will work on a market stall everyday for the rest of their life. :( right. as i got up so early i now have a day free to do as i please. ttfn.
