Had a great few days in Siem Reap so on the first night we got there after talking with the guys who worked at the guest house, we went for a walk for something to eat. Stopped off at a on the road street resturant, the ones with the plastic chairs and tables and had the most amazing dinner. It was were you cooked your own meat at the table on a big hotpot and also steam cooked your own veg and noodles, sooo good.A bit like a fondue but paying £3 not the 60 euros i was paying everytime i went out in France!
We then looked round the night market. It was huge, sellling lots of scarfs, t shirts and canvas pictures. I brought a few things and it was a laugh getting lost a few times!
Aftter, walking down towards pub street we went in to a bar called Angkor What? It was a reallly quirky place were everyone had written on the wall. Quite westenised. Seeing the deal, buy 2 pitchers of cocktails and get a free t shirt we went for that and as it was so busysat on a table with some randoms and talking to them, a ozzie american and a swiss. I overheard people on the next table talk about the Gap Yarr bloke on Youtube, so then they came over to join us, then some more people and it ended up being a massive group of us drinking having a laugh and getting up to no good! I blame the irish! We both got in at 4.30am, literally hammered!#
20mins later, and we were up to see the temples, still hammered!! the Temples at Angkor Wat were amazing, but we were impressed with some gap yarr people and the elephants more!! We managed 3 hours sightseeing, which we were proud of!
The rest of the time in Siem Reap was a little more quiet compared to the first night! we had afoot massage, looked round a miniture temple villange, drank beer, looked round the markets, had drinks with guys from England, OZ and Ireland. Had a amazing time.
Left today to go to battambang. Went on the bambootrain when we got here. Which is slats of bamboo, that sits on wheels, that then sists on a train track and small engine takes us 5km to a local villiage then back again, if it meets another train it dismantles then gets back on the track to let the other one past, was great fun. Now chilling out ready for some food. loving it here, Cambodia is amazing!
