Day 37 - Vang Vieng
Today we had a bit of a lie in, then went for lunch and to watch some more friends. After a couple of episodes we went to the Market stalls to buy our 'tubing in the vang vieng' souvenir tshirts that everyone wears when tubing. We both got 2 tshirts each and I bought new flip flops and a pair of shorts, we got all of it for £7 - bargain. After the shopping we sat in another video bar watching family guy and trying to decide what we could do here while we waited to go tubing. We soon figured out that we both really didn't want to be there any longer, and were happy to leave without tubing. So we went and booked the bus out of there for the next morning. So we now have a tubing t shirt when we didn't even do it, oh well! We had some dinner and stayed in our rooms watching films that night.
Day 38 - Luang Prabang
We were to be picked up by the bus transfer at 9.30, and as usual we were left waiting around. When it arrived it was a big tuk tuk, Michael threw his bag in and climbed on and went to help me get my bag in, when the driver drove off! We got him to stop and I got in and headed off to pick up some more people. The tuk tuk is meant for 12 people, and by the end we had 16 people and 16 rucksacks! It was a tight squeeze. We were dropped off at the bus stop and got into a much comfier bus and set off for luang Prabang. The bus was supposed to be 6 hours but took much longer! Although the scenery was amazing and I really enjoyed the drive. By the time we arrived, we were starving! We hadnt eaten anything so far and it was passed dinner time, so we checked into a hostel where the owner was offering everyone free shots of snake whiskey, dumped our stuff and went out for dinner. We didn't know where anything was and were feeling tired after the journey so went home for an early night.
