Costa Verde - the Green Coast - is exactly that. Pristine beaches framed by forested mountains as far the eye can see. A pre-planned highlight of the trip - NYE in Rio! After an 8 hr flight, we land and head straight to the hotel to charge our batteries before hitting the city. Still loving the beach life, we went south into Panama and to the islands of Bocas del Toro. Apparently these are normally a tropical paradise, but recent storms have swept tons of rubbish onto the beaches, so the white sands are now grey and covered in litter.
