2:00 Tuesday morning we had a stunning view of the Southern Hemisphere sky unbelievably clear, saw four shooting stars and brilliant scenes through their telescopes on Johns Mount. Later that day made our way to Oamaru (Penguin Town) lovely Victorian buildings anyway we stood waiting for these cute little fairy Penguins to come ashore at sunset, in the distance we spotted about 10-15 scrabble up the rocks towards their burrows. Disappointed with the numbers and the distance they were from us, we wandered back to our car only to find a couple had come onto land near where we're parked and had a close encounter with these lovely little birds, so not a disaster afterwards. Wednesday drove to Dunedin another Victorian town we visited Olveston House a beautiful historic home very interesting and loads to see there, the Railway Station is worth a look. Spent the night in Clyde and I had a lovely ribeye steak the food is good here. Thursday and Friday night in Queenstown watched youngsters bungy jumping and zip wiring and the views across the lake are spectacular. This is a very special country, we start the Milford track tomorrow so no wifi for 4-5 days will tell you all about it later. John & Gail
