After yesterday we were at a bit of a loss for something to do today. Decided to lay in and chill out for the morning. Jenny and Checkez had gone for a bike ride and Pete wanted to stay in, so the 3 of us made the decision to investigate the wakeboard park about 20 minutes down the road and then go on to Rockingham to sus out the beaches, snorkelling and Penguin Island.
It was a very hot day so ideal for a bit of a tan top up as well.
The water park looked awesome and served good coffees as well. It was a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere there so we asked a few questions and decided to come back at opening time tomorrow to give it a go when it would be less crowded.
We then drove on to Rockingham beach which was very beautiful, very calm but also very exposed with no cafe's near. We had a cool off swim and then drove further south to where the ferry and sandbar are opposite Penguin Island.
There was a lovely cafe there and so we stayed for a couple of hours, had lunch and went snorkelling along the edge of the sandbar that stretched the 400m across to Penguin Island and shot some good underwater video on our GoPro cameras. It will be a while before we get it transferred and uploaded though so be patient. As the evening rushed in we headed back to Byford for home cooked dinner with plans to do the wakeboard park and Penguin Island tomorrow.
