Up at a reasonable time to go try out the local sports centre. Don't get this in UK even though Melbourne didn't have the best weather patterns. Fantastic but simple complex with large gymnasium and 50m 8 lane outdoor pool. Did an hours swim with Jan and Chloe while Azzy worked out in the Gym. A nice Coffee and snack after then back to prepare for our first trip into the City.
15 mins on the train into the famous Flinders Street Station next to Federation Square. Definitely new we were back into city life, felt like a sardine again. However the atmosphere walking around was buzzing. We took the free tram on the loop around the city and saw some of the main city landmarks before taking a stroll down Elizabeth Street to see some shops. We also walked through the longest China Town street in the Western world.
A walk along the South Bank of the River Yarra came next where there are lots of Cafe's and Bars and Street Entertainers of good quality. Aaron and I took a trip up to the top of Melbourne's highest building to floor 88 of Skydeck for some amazing views around the city.
I guess we must have walked about 6 or 7 miles so were now worn out and ready to get back to Chloe's. We stopped to buy some provisions and cooked up a fantastic veggie meal for the 4 of us plus some mandatory vino....to end the day.
