Heya from Stockholm, Sweden...
Another train ride down from Sundsvall... as I had raided Olofs movies I was set... watched a couple of movies and I was there. I find the lockers put my bag in and set off to explore...
Now I am going to say something that is not going to go down to well with some people... but here goes... Stockholm is boring!!! After 2-3 hours max I was bored... I was sick of shopping and had seen the palace, the old town, the harbour... and according to the map there was not much else to see... I still had 7 hours to kill until the train to Denmark... what the hell was I going to do??
Let me back track a little and say the Palace was nice, as was the harbour area and the old town was cool also... I had some food, hacked in some internet and bought some new headphones as mine had bit the dust... but 7 hours what was one to do all by themselves in Sweden's capitol... I found a cafe... had a coffee and a muffin and winged to dad on Facebook how bored I was, I caught up on emails as I had been slack with them and then I noticed sweet that killed 3 hours... so I was down to 4... I wandered back to the train station... not too sure what my motives were but I found a power point... I plugged in the laptop and iPhone and charged them up whilst I sat on the hard floor and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall... another 2 hours down... 2 to go.. By this stage I thought it would be dusk so I might go explore a little again and see if it looked any different at Dusk and it did!!! The views and photos I got in that 10 minutes made the trip down to Stockholm all worthwhile... the sky was a bright pinky purple, it reflected off the water and the whole harbour had a red glow about it... after a bit and a memory card full of photos I headed back to the station to get my bag and start heading towards the train.. I got my bag, some snacks for the morning and found my train. It was another sleeper train but the Swedish sleeper train is much nicer then the German... there were only 3 beds and they were wider and more comfy... there was a mirror and a sink. There was only 1 other girl in my room... she was a character from Singapore who was on exchange and kept missing her classes to travel Europe and was lying to her parents... she was travelling on her own and I imagine her to be one of those Asian girls who act prim and proper but are really crazier than Sarah.. she talked a lot and eventually she got the hint when I turned my light off... this was a short trip only 6 and a bit hours so I needed to make the most of the sleep... in the morning I would be in Denmark..
