Ciao Bella from Rome
We depart Florence on the 10:10am train and head to ROMA... We arrive and head straight to Camping Roma to meet up with our TopDeck tour.. We meet our guide and driver Tony and Phil who were a little dusty from a big night earlier.. We freshen up hit the pool for a bit and then get ready for a trip into Rome to see the sights...
Some of the sights we seen are colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, St Peters Square and a few other things that were amazing but I don't remember the names of, hopeless I know. We did the coin toss into the Trevi fountain.. one coin is you will return to Rome within a year, 2 coins is to find True Love, three is for marriage and 4 is if you are married and want a divorce. I wanted to do one.. To return to Rome but everyone was doing 2 so I went with that.. I will keep you posted if it works haha. The rest of our tour bar 2 ppl did the tour the previous day so there were only 6 of us. The other 2 are a couple from Sydney. Their names are Steve and Nicki so Elley nicknamed then Blondie (Stevie nicks..) strike of genius I thought until we realised her name is Deborah Harry and we were thinking of Fleetwood Mac.. So now we call them Fleetwood mac, or Blondie or Fleetwood mac formally known as Blondie. We made our way back to camping roma, however couldn't get a bus to take us the last 10 mins.. This stage it is 8pm and dinner was being served... our guide Tony, Blondie and I caught a taxi back and the Elley, Keira and shifty waited for another cab. When we got back we walked into the dinner tent and all eyes were on the new kids was a little intimidating but everyone seemed friendly enough.. We had dinner, caught up with elleys friend for a drink and called it an early night.
Day 2.. Vatican City.. It was a 6am rise, breakfast was at 6:30am and we were on our way by 7am to the Vatican City. We had a guided tour that took us through the best parts of the Museum and explained the Sistine chapel paintings done by Michelangelo (could be spelt wrong there) we then went through the Sistine chapel which was amazing to see but wasn't quite as incredible as I was expecting. We ended our tour in St Peters Square where we then went and met our TopDeck bus to take us to Venice...
Overall Rome was hot and had some amazing architecture, the Colosseum was awesome as was the Trevi fountain. It's cool to say I have been to Vatican City and the Sistine chapel and doing it on a tour was good as we didn't have to think once.... next stop Venice..
