A small Aussie crowd descended upon rainy Brighton one day, and found the prettiest seaside city. I went with Kiel, Bindy and some of their friends, and I was surprised how close it was to London. I wouldnt have thought about going there, thinking it far far away, so am glad I got to see it. I think it would be an amazing place to work in Summer, or even in winter, as there is something so nice about it.
The brightly painted beach huts line the pebbled shore and the pier stretches out over the sea. All the ice cream stands were closed and the rides dripped with water, but there was still a thrill in the air about it. Sleepily happy I think it was. We walked up to a far away lagoon and got our share of excercise, walked out along the slippery pier, watched people being attacked by the icy waves then went back to the centre for some cheap lunch. Trying to escape the wind and rain and cold we found a cute little bar, so stepped inside for an afternoon warm up. As soon as we did though, we were besieged by a slightly mad lady called Heaven who insisted on buying us shots (at 3.30 in the afternoon). She fell for Kiel and wouldnt take her eyes off him, and told us how she owned half of Brighton including the bar we were in, at which the barmaid stifled laughter. We told her we were a band and so she even graced us with some impromptu singing. An interesting day all in all. Some sea air, sheltering from torrents of rain under hastily bought umbrellas, a crazy lady and nice company. Brighton, I will see you again.
