Today I went to Regent's Park with my friends Stephanie and Tina. The park is so big that we didn't even see the whole thing today after spending nearly four hours in it walking around. Parts of it look like Alice in Wonderland, while other parts of it look like vast playing field and jogging paths. It was really spectacular and I loved it.
Stephanie and I jumped on the tube this morning while Tina was in class and we walked around a little. The park was pretty empty. By the time Tina came to meet us (about 3 hours later) there were a lot more people out because of the rare occasion of sunshine. Today was absolutely heavenly. I didn't need a jacket or a coat for once and the sun was perfectly beating down on us.
We walked through the paths, stopped at one of the park cafes, sat on a bench for a while, people watched and scared the ducks. It was so fun. After all of that we walked in an unknown direction and ended up on Bakers Street (yes, that is where Sherlock Holmes lives). We sat at a little cafe and had a light lunch and then decided to head back to NIDO.
Later on I went shopping. The size of the bottles of alcohol are different here. When purchasing champagne you have a choice between small, medium and large. The small would be just the right amount for one person. The same goes for liquor. And beer is usually sold by the can at 440ml. Just thought it was interesting.
Also interesting...since the laundry rooms in NIDO are not yet finished, they are paying to have our laundry sent out. So tomorrow morning I'm bring my clothes down in a bag that was provided to me and I will get my clothes back tomorrow night cleaned, dried and folded. It sounds great, but I don't want to get my hopes up.
Tomorrow I have homework to do. I really need to get started on that.
