JK - For some the morning started with a cycle around the island on which our home stay was located.
I didn't really fancy it so carried on with my hammock swinging to try and finish my very exciting book.
When everyone arrived back we had breakfast which consisted of the Vietnamese delicacy, baguette with la vachce qui rit with an omelette on the side.
We then had to make our way to Chau Doc.
This was only really a stopping point before we crossed the border in to Cambodia.
It was a very sleepy town with not a lot going on, although they do seem to like their karaoke bars and pool halls.
Anyway, after lunch a few of us caught a taxi to the top of Sam Mountain.
What started as a sort of joke became a reality when Tom and Graham decided to run up the mountain!
It wasn't that far, but it was steep so a great effort!
Their efforts were rewarded with a beer an amazing views in to Cambodia.
The sunset across the paddy fields was fantastic.
Our New Years Eve meal and evening was a bit of a damp squib because everything seemed to shut early.
The only place open was a very dodgy looking karaoke bar, if we'd done there I am not sure if we'd ever be let out again….
In the end we bought some beers and coke (to go with Mick's JD) and sat in the hotel lobby listening to music through a laptop.
Not the most eventful NYE but I am sure we'll remember it!
