First full day on Koh Samui, we met the others Ella,Jodie, Ben and Frankie, and went out for breaky. Spent most of the today on the beach getting very sunburnt (Isla obviously). The waves at the beach were crazy, over head size so everyone enjoyed the swimming/trying not to drown.

Around midday we headed back to hotel, collected Jodie who was feeling really poorly all morning, and caught a taxi (essentially just a pick up truck with a bench in the back) up the road to the 'fishermans village'. Had our first proper Thai meal which was lush, even managed to push myself on the spivey front.

Around this time the weather really came in and we had our first experience of a Thai storm....man it can rain!!!

After lunch we headed back to the main road closer to our hotel, where we went out for "a few drinks". We found this little reggae bar on the beach where we played dobble( thanks Ali), but somehow managed to turn it into a drinking game! We ended the night at a beach party, which to me seemed really busy but I fear it's going to be nothing compared to nye!

Wednesday 30th (Trix's birthday)

Woke up late post night out. The other group were all very hungover so stayed at hotel. Jay and I hired scooters for 200 bahr (£4) for the day and went off to see the island. Jay drove and I was on the back. Thai driving is crazy so I was very happy to just be a passenger, jay says the drive aged him by 10 years. We headed to the other side of the island to find a waterfall. We parked up and started the hours trek to the top of the waterfall, it felt like forever in the 35'c Thai heat but defiantly worth it. Once we got to the top we went for a swim and got some photos. We also ate our weird snacks (dried sea weed and dried fish) we had picked up from tesco (They are everywhere Iain). On the way home we got stuck in another really heavy downpour which made the driving even scarier, especially when the rain is so heavy you can barely see the road in front let alone all the other vehicles going which every way the want up, down and across the road!

Once home we met the girls and went for a Thai massage, basically paying to be punched for an hour but sort of relaxing at the same time. We then went down to the beach for some dinner. Another delicious Thai meal!
