Luckily we could afford to stay in a hotel in Jakarta, and made the most of the morning buffet, luxury. As we ventured out into the streets the roads were very quiet being Sunday. Peering down alley ways you could see where people lived with bellowing smoke from their fires. The houses made from sheets of metal.
As we ventured out into the main park and centre we were approached by more and more people wanting to sell us anything they had. Policeman were carrying out bag searches as people entered the park. Making you feel slightly uneasy. Funnily we were also approached by many people wanting to take our pictures, I'm not sure if it was because we were white or because we were twice their height and width. We did laugh, at the thought of appearing in peoples family albums, possible labelled the 'freaks'.
After looking at the train station thought a train ride might be interesting and Yogyarkata did n't seemed too far , so it was decided that this would be our next destination.
Luckily we managed to book executive seats, so we were n't with the cattle. Infact it was quite spacious, and cleverly the seats completed swivel round. As we pulled out of Jarkarta the scenes were pretty shocking a mass of shelters, made out of anything they could get their hands on mainly rice sacks.
Once we were out of the centre we were confronted with beautiful counrysid, endless paddy fields, with lush green borders, with background views of the huge volcanoes. It did n't fell real the sceneary was soo beautiful. Many people worked bear footed along the railway and the train stopped there were no plat forms, but sellers were
