Hello everyone,
Sorry it has been a while since the last blog, we have been none stop since we got to Australia!
We started our australian adventure in sydney a few days ago now and we all really enjoyed it. We had 2 days there altogether which really doesnt sound much but we got quite abit done. Jen and steph did the bridge climb which they both thought was awsome fun but think there little legs hurt a little after it, while me and Laura had a wander round the shops!! Didnt spend too much but it would be wrong going shopping in sydney and not buy anything!!
The next day we headed off to Bondi beach...... really lovely just to relax and not do anything! The sea was beautiful and clear, but still not enough to entice us in for a swim..... the shark threat is always there! We sunbathed for most of the day but had a few moments when yes we dont really want to admit this but we had to put our fleeces on!!! Not quite what we expected to have to do on Bondi! Only when the sun went in tho, and that wasnt that often. Think the little bit of occasional cloud and the wind tricked us tho because all of us got burnt...... some worse than others (mentioning no names steph!!!). The beach really is full of bronzed bodies and those of you that kno me and Laura can appreciate that we stood out just a little!!
We left sydney at 6.30am the next day and headed off to surf camp on a bus full of blond up themselves southerners who looked us up and down in a bad way.... think it could have been something to do with the very attractive walking sandals we live in! There were a couple of really nice normal girls on the bus tho who we got chatting too and got a little bit tipsy with at the beach party at surf camp on goon (supposidly the cheapest way to get drunk Australia)!! Wooo our first beach party, was really good fun! After our night on the goon (v cheap wine in a box) we had to get up at 6am ( is that not just harsh) for our surfing lesson!! Wasnt so sure about this because i heard that sharks attack first thing in the morning and last thing at night!!!! It didnt help with the thought of sharks as we went to a surf museum the day before and this old surfing legend told us some horror stories about shark attacks and added to that the idea of salt water crocodiles..... its all good tho because we all made it through it and a few of us even managed to stand up so basically we are all surfers now!!! So funny tho because our instructors were just the typical surf sorts and everything was either cool or really uncool.
We got to brisbane now and going to the zoo tomorrow which we found out today it has been taken over by some Americans so glad we are getting to see it as it is before it turns into a theme park or something!
Think thats about you up to date now
love
the girls
