Fab second day in Budapest. Explored the Buda side of the island today. Started by walking up what seemed like thousands of steps to the Citadel ('small city'). Absolutely boiling hot and very tiring! Then we wandered along to the castle and the Fishermans Bastian- beautiful turrets and views of the parliament buildings across the river. Stopped for a drink in a gorgeous restaurant with panoramic views then had a spot of lunch (ham and cheese toastie with a pint and a half of beer= Just over £3!!) After getting more energy we carried on to Margaret Island (a small pedestrianised island in the middle of the river) and hired a bringo cart to travel round the island- so much fun!!! We then wandered home, made our own dinner (very backpacker like) and met our first lot of other travellers and they were from Hertfordshire. Then we got dressed for a river cruise-Stunning views of the lit city at night and a glass of champagne, it was perfect. Finished the night off with some more prosecco at a local bar- fab! We love Budapest! :-)
