Last bit of time in Munich today and we have been busy busy! We went to Max-Weber Platz to see the Maximilianeum Palace. When crossing the bridge the view was lovely, lots of wiers and trees so was very peaceful. We wandered down to the small pebbly beach, collecting stones to take home (and leaving our own pile of stones for others to see after we have gone- Wolvercote guys you know what I mean!). We then went to Sendlinger Tor to browse the shopping street- so many shoe shops! Unfortunately with our luggage situation none of that kind of shopping could be done! We ended up back at Marienplatz and walked through to Hofbrauhaus- a huge German beer hall!! Ordered a beer (we are cutting down after leaving here) and soaked up the atmosphere. There was obviously a big match for Bayern Munich as there were loads of football fans in shirts! After beer we went to Viktualiemarkt (German market) to find a Kurry Wurst for lunch. Eventually found one and it was worth the wait. We both scoffed it down speedily- was gorgeous. Hurried back to the hostel to grab our rucksacks which we had left in the luggage room but the door wouldn't unlock and there was no one on reception (typical)!! Luckily someone came soon and we then rushed to the station to catch our train to Salzburg :-)
Salzburg blog to follow later!
