Busy busy bees today. Got up for breakfast then headed straight to the train station to get a train to Cannes! Sunny beach awaits! Nice airport is odd and the systems they have in place make it crazy busy. Train was delayed but wasn't long before we were in Cannes. Beautiful long sandy beach and palm trees. We got the holiday feeling again. Found a good spot on the beach and spent a few hours sunbathing. It was hot but didn't feel that warm as there was a very strong breeze- enough to make us move after a few hours as we were getting sand everywhere!! Had a look at more expensive boats and found a place for lunch few beers and some fajitas! Yum! Caught the train back and got showered and dressed super quick to head to Monaco. Not quite what we expected looks wise but the harbour was lovely. Walked up to the castle for some great views and found a little restaurant to eat in although we felt so tired and not massively hungry but thought we should eat and hoped it would give us energy! The waiters were a little strange so we didn't stay long! Then we went to find the casino and had a go on the roulette wheels. So much fun and very addictive. We both had a good go at gambling and I came away with 25 euro from putting in 5 so was chuffed with that. Ellie risked all- fair play! We then had to try and find the train station so that we could get back to Nice as we were told the last train back was about half 10! Again, people giving directions were useless but eventually a policeman gave us perfect directions and we got there in good time. When we got back to Nice we really fancied a drink so went back to the restaurant we visited on our first night in Nice and ordered some profiteroles and a bottle of prosecco to celebrate our last night away! Sad to leave tomorrow but feel we have done what we wanted and it has been great :-)
