What an amazing day we has today!! Even though it was raining and we had to wear jeans and rain jackets! We went on a bus to Untersberg where we got a cable car up to the top of the mountain. Looked very daunting at first as it was so high up and doesn't seem so safe with just a cable wire- but so glad we did it!! The views from the top were just breathtaking. At first it was a bit foggy but after we had grabbed a bite to eat for lunch in the log cabin up there nearly all of the fog had disappeared!
We went back down and got the bus back into town. Had a rude and grumpy bus driver who decided to not wait for me to get off the bus and basically trapped my arm in the bus door!

When we got back the rain had got worse so we had a quick trip to the fortress and then grabbed some dinner at a pizza place we had looked for on our first day! Went back to the hostel, did some washing and had a last pint of beer (literally scraping together coins to pay for one to share) and headed out to the station. Got to Munich soon and waited for our night train! We found our cabin on board and it was tiny, not much room to move! Finally got settled hoping that we would have a decent nights sleep. Goodnight Salzburg and Munich, Good morning Venice! :-)

And I discovered that the rain jacket I have is not waterproof (sorry Kate) so I looked like a drowned rat, which I think Ellie found rather amusing :-p
