So we've been sailing in the Whitsundays and apart from it being freezing it was good!! on Friday we went down to the marina to get on the boat which was called Hammer, it was a maxi racer to any of you that know boats!? There was 22 of us plus 4 crew members so quite a squish but we all soon got used to it and everyone got on really well - not that you have much option. Our boat again seemed to have a high predominance of Irish - do we attract them or what!!

On the first afternoon we just sailed over to tongue bay on whitsunday Island where we anchored up for the night had dinner and drank and played some drinking games before we hit our cabin beds.

We woke up on Saturday morning to a very rocky boat and a couple of the girls feeling a bit ill, but straight after brekkie we got off on Whitsunday Island for a couple of hours to walk up to the lookout and go down onto whitehaven beach. While paddling we saw a stingray not too far away.

Back on the boat we had lunch and sailed over to another cove where a few of us braved it and went snorkelling - FREEZING!! but the coral and reef where amazing!! and we saw loads of fish again this ones weren't scared of us at all and were swimming up to us and trying to have a nibble and find out what we were.

After that we all layered up again and sailed over to Hayman island where we got off on the beach to watch the sunset and have a couple of drinks out of the 'esky' (coolbox) and some cheese and crackers. Then got back on thye boat for dinner BBQ'ed steak and potatoes and salad before starting on the drinking again! This time we sat in the cabin drinking just to keep warm.

This morning a couple of the girls risked pneumonia again by going for a snorkel after brekkie then we hit the wind full whack and raced back to the mainland, at times the boat was almost vertical in the water so the sailing was a bit exciting at times!!

Anyway we're back on dryland now although i still have the bobbing momentum! We're all meeting up tonight at the bar most of the people who were on the boat for yet another night of drinking! Hayles you'll be glad to know on the boat i was drinking a box of coolabahs and its actually noy bad considering the ingredients!!!

We've found out a few people from our boat are doing Fraser when we are on Wednesday so we're hoping we'll all be together again for the craic!

Anyway Whitsundays sailing was mega if not cold, but certainly worth the shivering, over and out for now!
