Day two with the group we left via bus for Melaka in Malaysia. The group are starting to bond which is great. When we arrived we had a tour of Melaka on a trishaw/rickshaw- they were very tacky but it is the easiest way to see the area. This is where we began viewing temples. (I expect to see a lot more of these on my travels!) In the evening we went to dinner via the night market. The market was full of interesting things for sale...snakes, tarantulas, lots of coconuts and some strange looking mushrooms! After a very interesting cocktail, I slept very well. Back on the bus the next day to Kuala Lumpur. We had a guided tour which took us to a mosque where we had to dress in the full Muslim attire. Which in the heat was pretty hot!! Then on to a textiles museum and the Kings Palace. The yellow flag was raised which meant he was home! The last stop for the day was to Batu Caves where we climbed 357 steps and encountered some very cheeky or rather aggressive monkeys on route to the top. In the evening we walked towards the twin towers and had a drink at the sky bar opposite to soak up the views.
