I arrived in Hong Kong the early hours of Friday morning and my first impressions were-building works, skyscrapers, crazy driving and fast paced. After a sleep I planned to explore further but by the time I woke up it was time for dinner. I didn't want to go far so I went to a Japanese restaurant. The waitress, courtesy of the chef, brought me the baby crab. Not wanting to seem rude I ate it! The texture was weird but it was surprisingly tasty! The next day I caught the ferry to Lantau island where I visited the Po Lin monastery and the big Buddha. That evening I enjoyed a couple of mojitos in the 360 degree roof top bar in the hotel, hoping to watch the symphony of lights show but despite the amazing views I didn't notice the light show (maybe the mojito had more of an effect than I thought)! I set off early the next day and joined a tour bus visiting the South of Hong Kong island and Kowloon. It was good to see the sites and some amazing views but the busy traffic did dampen the experience! Especially when the dialogue was stuck on repeat telling us that dim sum means 'touch the heart'... After a quick look around some lovely designer shops I went back to the hotel to pack for my next destination!
