hello again.
we got a 7 hr bus to chitwan national park (it was bumpy, bring a sports bra!).
we spent 2 nights at chitwan...it was amazing. on the 1st morning we went on a river trip in a hollowed out canoe ( crocodile infested but apparently they were vegetarian!).
in the afternoon we went on a jungle walk for a few hours and saw alot of rhino s*** and thats about it(my mum was thrilled). late afternoon was amazing, we went and watched the elephant bathing and you could get on them in the water but seeing as they just throw you off....we swerved it!
second morning.....the elephant safari....crammed into a tiny wooden box with 2 other people was well worth it when we saw 4 rhinos.....................................they are beautiful animals, amazing...so surreal, they look like they're wearing armour.
a cultural evening on the last night was really good....loads of pretty boys dancing around with fire dressed as women doing a dance called lady boy (quite wrong actually)
we then got a 6 hour bus to pokhara by the lake........and we were in heaven!!!!!!
pokhara is a beautiful place on a lake framed by huge snow capped mountains and we ate amazing food, had massages ("a really small thai lady walked all over me" is the way my mum described it), bought clothes and fought with women from tibet over jewellery etc.
we stayed in a really nice guest house for 5 quid a night and the family that owned it invited us to a tea party to celebrate their festival.....this involved the father drinking hard core burn your eyes whisky and putting tekas in the middle of our foreheads.
the only bad thing that happened in pokhara is that we sat eating at a restaraunt where they played the new james bond movie one night and a nutter came running down the road, screaming and waiving a massive sword around! he ran up a side street and we never saw him again......weird!
we stayed for 6 days but forced ourselves to leave today and got a flight back to kathmandu this morning.
we are having such an amazing time....and chris, i've got a picture of a cow eating some rubbish just for you!
we have to get up at 4.30 am tomorrow to catch a flight to delhi (YUCK!) but we are going to try to fly/bus it out down to jaipur immediately.
as soon as we get out of delhi we will add loads of photos and more info on the blog
