Hello again north island - how I've missed you so...
I'm afriad this entry might be slightly on the dullish side since my trip back up to aukland really was just that - a super speedy non stop journey to get me back to the city of 's*** I promised myself I would never come back here' ready for my bay of islands trip in a couple of days. But still, let's begin. Wednesday brought about a nice batch of de ja vu (think I'm going to be getting a lot of that!) as I once again boarded the ferry over to Wellington. This time however the sea was ghastly and horrible and very very rocky so I just HAD to go watch the blind side in the cinema to take my mind off it! Unfortuantly when you can see a very large physical change in the angle of the screen you start to remember how far over you are tipping... Bad times. Bad times indeed! The evening, once back in the delights of Wellington, was planned out to a T. I was going to buy pizza, eat half and then power nap until the England match at 2am and eat the rest of the pizza in the bar. Unfortuantly I had a cold so my powernap turned into an all night alarm ignoring sleep and I woke up with a half eaten pizza on my lap and a win from England! Yay!! Screw you certain very annoying holland supporters! :p
Thursday had a great Start to the day, I woke up thinking I was late and had 10 mins till my bus left - I actually had 45 mins an so was sitting like a lemon in reception for over half an hour! Next stop was taupo after a brief revisit to the lovely stinking wonders of rotorura -although this time kane stopped at some mud pools which boiled and bubbled which were quite cool, something GP didn't bother stopping for first time round, and by late afternoon/early evening I was back in taupo base hostel again :) I kind of feel bad for people who did the south island first because they don't get to stop at any of the cool places we did - wytomo, river valley, mercury bay - they are all missed off becuase it's an express run back up to aukland. Oh well bad times for them :p.
Friday was my final day with kane and I hate to admit it, I have kinda become a bit attached to him, like a fat demented puppy in a way, so it was quite sad to say goodbye in aukland - he even gave me a hug. It's ok though, I'm pretty sure I'll get over it :p. Before we got to aukland however we stopped off at the little town where hobbiton was built for lord of the rings, and without even consulting the nearest t*** from Wellington, I managed to find the big 'welcome to hobbiton sign' with the gollym statue next to it - obviously for a very tacky photo oppertunity :p unfortunatly the ground was too muddy for me to do the whole shoes on my knees short person thing - but to be honest I'm basically the size of a hobbit anyway so cest la ve! :p
See didn't I tell you this entry might not live up to the thrilling expectations of my other entries! Oh well, back in aukland I am and off to the bay of islands tomorrow - cannot wait!
