Hi All
Well I have just finished a weekend of site seeing in a place called Pokhara. Went with 11 other volunteers, and had a really good time! We did all he tourist things like visit a place called Devi's falls, which is where a waterfall vanishes undergound, quie a spectacular site. And went to a hindu cave, it was a little temple don here hat has stood for hundereds of years but was only rediscovered in 1992. We went to another temple and as it was a Saturday everone was there worshipping and there was an ancient man blessing everyone (cleary I am blessed and therefore didnt join he que! only messing, he scared me really lol!), one of the volenteers then projectile vomited on the holey land and we then made a quick exit! We also went to see the Peace Pagoda, only draw back was that it was on the top of a really big mountain that you cant get a taxi up and I was wearing flip flops! So off everyone set up this big hill, they were all miles ahead of me, I am so unfit compared to all these superfit trekking medics and physios! Our guide practually pushed me up some of the way! Then the boy who was sick earlier then neally fainted and the guide took him back down the mountain and to the local hospital! so I was left on my own half way up this mountain! I carried on following the path untill it split! luckily a local boy who spoke English told me which way to go, in return I let him touch my hair as he had never seen blonde hair before! (I didnt tell he he still hadnt! lol!). So i carried on past the wallowing buffalo, who feaked me out a bit and managed to get right to the top and find the others and tell them what had happened. I was really pleased with myself for getting up there however not so pleased to find that I could not go in the peace pagoda as it was shut for renovation!!!! Argh!!!!! Later on we took a boat out on the big lake, which was really nice unill the moonsoon hit! We also got up for sunrise one morning to watch the sun rise over the Annapurna range which was an amazing view!
Despite he few set backs on the trip it really was a good weekend. I will upload some pics asap.
I have been to work again at the local hospital today and had a good day. Am off for some tea now, wonder what ill have...... Rice?!
Bye for now x x x
