Up and ready for my Full Day tour of Mount Rainier - 8am was the pick up time and the arrived nice and prompt…yeh sorry to be an ass here like but Im a sucker for punctuality….cant abide tardiness
Anyways……
So we went on our way, 2.5hr journey….when I first heard this I wanted to cry…BUT there is so much to see on the way, the views, different villages it didn't become boring. We stopped half way and had some snacks and a drink.
As we made our way to the Mount Rainier Park the views where just out of this world, I means seriously the pictures in the album dont do this place justice, but because I am a bit of a Bill Bailey with my expert photography I think I managed to capture it (OK Jen shut up no1 cares) The sun was blazing…but as we made our way up and up the Park….there was tons of snow!! it was crazy….so warm but snow everywhere, I certainly didn't feel like I was in Seattle, it was crazy! The views of Mount Rainier top and everything else around was just WOW!!! Seriosuly you need to check the pictures out - and if you already have…check them out again!
So we arrived, at the Mount Rainier and OMG we went snow shoe walking…YES we hiked through the snow and it was unreal, I mean what kind of day is this…..it was amazing seeing all the smooth, crisp and deep snow but absolutely sweating at the same time, tell ya what though it was hard work in these snow shoes….my calves were killing afterwards…felt like Id been doing Burpees - oh wait I did do them on the mountain - sorry aba me!…..I cant even believe now as I type this that it actually happened to me BUT it did and I loved every minute…..after our hike we had a lovely little lunch and drinks!!!
We stopped on the way down to hike again (no snow this time) to see some amazing mineral lakes, forests…I mean I know this may sound boring to some and Im not a beaver (how cool would it be if I was though,….ya know like the ones from Narnia) but we dont get this stuff at home, I mean Stanley Park (no offence) isn't really much to see….(btw people of England get off ya high horse…Im sure there are tons of lovely places in England….but Im not talkin about that)
This was one hell of a day - long, tiring but OMG the memories I will have from this will stay with me forever. Now dont worry I am not going to try out for the winter olympics - I don't think snow shoe is an event…Ill stick to fitness (well for now haha)
Thanks Evergreen Escapes
