Day 2: Zermatt
Today I woke up after a weird sleep…the room was so warm, but hey ho! Did a little mini workout in my room - as I needed it before brekkie and then headed off to Zermatt via coach and then train. It was a very quaint little town….no cars allowed only electric ones…so it had every fresh and clean air….bloody rained all day though didn't it….but its doesn't matter when ya on ya hols does it. Zermatt is at the base of the Matterhorn Glacier…I could of took the Gorgerat Train up 10,000 feet and seen it but tbh I didn't fancy it and the weather was cloudy so I knew the views wouldn't be so clear. The little town is normally a Ski resort and lots of little cafes and shops and stuff..I had an amazing hot choc…it was no "options" I'll tell ya that….It was warm (dairy free) milk with 5 little hazelnut truffles that you just lash in and it makes the hot choc….devine, well ya know when in rome (Switzerland) and that…so yeh lovely little town, lots of walks you could do but didn't have enough time there to do them but had a good walk round.
Seen the cemetery of all the people who had lost their loves climbing the Matterhorn….was interesting to see all the different people and ages etc…..
Would ya?? Would ya really climb a glacier mountain?? Ermmmm not for me.
Made our way back to hotel down all the little windy roads again...but Im here to tell the tale.
