Nelson - Greymouth
Wednesday 6th January
Our pick up was at 8am and we had a full day of driving ahead of us with a few scenic stops along the way. We headed for the 'wild west coast' which is very similar to the great ocean road in OZ. our first stop was Cape Foulwind, named by captain cook when his ship was blown off course. The cape is home to fur seals which we got to see, they were really cute. Our second stop of the day was Punakaiki Pancake Rocks which look like a stack of grey pancakes, pretty cool rock formations if you ask me. There are also some blowholes here but the tide was all wrong so we didn't get to see and of the watery action. We arrived in Greymouth a little after four and after checking in to our room at Neptune's hostel and eating free Bakery food, Gareth and I wandered into town to have a look around. It is quite a small down with one main street that has a few small streets crossing over. On our way back to the hostel we walked back along the estuary path it was nice but a bit chilly. When everyone else went to sleep I wasn't that tired so finished reading roses are red by James Patterson.
