Xian The hostel in Xian is a lovely building with a central courtyard. However, because we went for the cheap option our room was in the basement with no air conditioning, it was hot! Spend the first day just hanging out in the courtyard and planning our route around SE Asia. In the evening had a lovely BBQ at the hostel and met some other travelers who we played card games with. Beijing After arriving at our hostel in Beijing we where handed a notice that there would be a curfew in the centre of Beijing. This was so they could practice the 60th anniversary celebrations that are due to take place on the 1st of October. As a result of the curfew we would have had to stay in the hotel from 1800 hours on Friday to 1100 on the Sunday.
