San Juan del Sur; Nicaragua's premier surf town and a cool little drinking village where the locals like to go fishing. This is where I chose to spend the last couple weeks I have here in Central America; relaxing and trying to improve my surfing skills. My contract as a tour leader with Gap Adventures is behind me. No more welcome meetings, no more passengers to look after, no more hotel reservations to make, and certainly much less problem solving. It’s been an amazing ride but I’m looking forward to something new.

So it’s only natural to ask, "what’s next?" And after 18 months of work I think the answer is obvious. I need a vacation! … just not here in Central America. So to start, I’ve arranged to visit family in California before heading home to Pennsylvania. It’s been almost two years since I had mom’s cooking and I am long overdue.

Next destination… ANY WHERE BUT HERE.
