Around the World Forever
After Carnaval, the gang and I headed straight for Taganga; the ultimate Colombian, chill-out, beach village. And here is where I celebrated my 7th anniversary of being a professional slacker. Seven years ago on this day, I officially resigned from my job thingy to start my round the world backpacking trip that was supposed to last about a year or so. I've managed to do a little better than a year on the road but there still are dozens of countries that remain unvisited and are calling. So I continue doing what I do. And at the moment, that means heading back to Central America to lead more trips for Gap Adventures (soon to be renamed in the US market due a lawsuit from GAP Clothing Co.) and "living the dream" as all my friends tell me. I am on the tail end of my contract and I can guarantee that new adventures (and therefore more blog updates) lie just around the corner.
Special thanks to Mike, Kurt, Gail, and Doug for making the long trip down here and to Hugo for your hospitality. This was a great vacation but now it's back to Central America to live the good life on the move, showing my passengers the best of the countries we visit.
