Hi - an after match blog. Caroline Hickok Barstow became a Dr today- and it was good. A huge cheer from her assembled fans - including Sally and Jeff here finally at Cornell University, upstate New York. Was all pomp and circumstance, big speeches, and prizes for all - even the fans who got fed after the show. Been a long time coming this one - as it is for all vets. Caroline handled it all with maturity and grace and did everything needed to reinforce the message that she will make a good vet. As always it was great to interact with the entire Hickok family - many in depth discussions, lots of mental gymnastics, laced with copious quantities of beer and burgers. And then it was up to Hadley, Mass and the dairy farm for a bit of R&R. Sal and Jeff sleeping 12 hrs plus a day, visiting the cows, the local state park and especially the Barstow store for coffee and a Danish - without even leaving the farm. Caroline is well set up for her career in vet med and best of all she has the support of a great husband, not to mention a legion of other supporters. Buena suerte para tu vida Caroline!
