Sorry it´s late! My PDA did remind me on the 5th but I was in the middle of the Torres del Paines National Park at the start of 5 days trekking. Marvellous!! Just waiting for my washing to be done before I head on a little side trip to Argentina for a couple of days. Then it´s off to Quito for an extended stay! Exciting or what?
I firgot to tell you that our horrendous night amongst the biting insects at the Haast Bridge wasn´t without some value. I went to a Hostel PUb Quiz in Wellington and earned myself a free pint by knowing that it was the longest single lane bridge in NZ!! Hope all is going well. Bye for now.

Apologies for the lack of messages - I'm only just coming out of hibernation. Enjoyed a nad freezing walk at Hengistbury Head the other week and finished it off with everyone's favourite lard out. Double egg and chips a decent mug of tea. It doesn't get any better than that!
Had a week in Hong Kong at the end of Feb courtesy of the Dept of Education (thank you very much all you tax payers!). I'd recommend cocktails at the Penninsula Hotel. Very posh and a stunning view from the Gents loo! Picked up a great Chairman Mao watch for £1.70 in the market - definitely worth looking out for. I'd recommend a visit to the big Buddha on Lantau as it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a big Buddha. Mai Po was good for a bit of wildlife action and you can walk through the mangroves to view China on the far bank where they have a theme park with replicas of famous buildings. Seeing the Eiffel tower across the mud flats was an odd.
