Since we had explored Venice for the past two days, we wanted to see something new. Sophie joined me and Carson and the three of us caught the bus to Venice. The only method of public transportation in the main part of the city is by water bus, so hopped on one of those and were lucky enough to grab the seats in front. The water bus took us all the way down the Grand Canal, passing under Rialto Bridge and along San Marco Square. It was amazing seeing Venice from the water and for €6.50 compared to €90 for a gondola ride! Our trip ended on Lido, a thin island that acts as a barrier between Venice and the Adriatic. We made our way to the other side of the island and the beach. It wasn't quite what we expected, extremely crowded and more dirt than sand but we still enjoyed it for a couple hours, laying in the sun and playing cards. After a walk down the beach we decided to head back, eating gelato as we went. A water bus and city bus ride later brought us back to camp. We ordered pizzas from the restaurant on site and were waiting for them when we met three English girls named Alice, Georgia and Fran. The 6 of us sat by the pool playing drinking games for a couple hours and having a great time when someone decides we should go swimming in the pool. We were splashing around being much louder than we should've been when we noticed the security guard in his florescent orange vest approaching and all hell broke loose. Carson and I grabbed our clothes and managed to dive over the 6 foot fence into the bushes while everyone else was trying to hide from the guard. We spent the rest of the night running around the campsite, hiding between cabins and trying to escape from the guard chasing us on his bike. Eventually me and Carson realized we had left our cabin key by the pool. And the security guard had found it. So when he caught us he lectured us in Italian (of course we couldn't understand a word) but we denied it and said we had lost it earlier so he just gave us our key and told us to go to bed. Fearing that we might get fined, we listened. We wanted a memorable last night in and that's definitely what we got!
