Well, here is my first official blog entry..... from PERTH!!! Woo hoo!!

I've got here safe and sound and feel great considering the lack of sleep and the saga I've encountered already!! Well, you all know by now that Jayne + flights = trouble!!! LOL! I got to Heathrow without any problems (after visiting what felt like half of England on the way), travelling down by National Express a day earlier than expected due to the weather. Although it had snowed on the morning of my flight, all was going to plan. We boarded the plane at 10 am ready for our 11:15 departure but then found out that the wings needed de-icing so we were delayed by 1.5 hrs sitting on the plane! My dilemma was that I was only supposed to be spending an hour in Singapore before my connecting flight - uh oh!! We finally got going and taxied sooo far to the runway that I actually thought we'd be leaving from Brum!! The flight was good and went really quickly considering, but then I did watch 2 films and ate my way through all the other hrs! One of the films btw was the very apt Australia... I managed to sleep for a couple of hours at just the right time because the sun was rising when I awoke, so although I'd only been asleep for 2 hrs and it was actually about 11pm it actually felt like I'd been asleep for about 10 hrs as it was about 7 in the morning Singapore time! It turned out that because there were actually 80 of us on the flight who needed to go to Perth, they held the one at Singapore until we got there (ring any bells mom eg boat in Malta!!). So, it turns out I actually got to spend about 15 mins in Singapore running to the next gate!! lol! Arriving in Perth about 3:45pm I then had to queue for AGES for everything - passport checks, luggage, declaring stuff... But, I'm here at Billabong Backpackers now and as I was the last to be dropped off the airport bus, I also inadvertently got a free tour of Perth too! Yay! I've just been for some scram and am now typing this whilst waiting for a phone to be free!!
