Hellooooo.......welcome to my travel blog!! As I'm sure you're already aware, I'm off to the other side of the world between 6th Feb and 23rd March 2009!!! You can use this site to keep in touch and read my diary entries about what I'm getting up to - move over Bridget Jones!!! LOL! I've written quite possibly the longest poem in the world to sum up my plans.... so here goes........ I hope you're sitting comfortably!!!! :)

My Travels by Jayne Lawrence

Oh my gosh, have you seen my itinerary???

Its jam packed full of places and activities

Hot air balloons, kayaking, cruises and trekking too

If I've got the guts maybe a skydive and bungy woo hoo

Australia is my first port of call

Travelling hundreds of miles by coach is quite a long haul

Perth for the night, then on to Alice Springs

Here is where my 'Beach and Bush' tour begins!!

Meeting new friends, with lots of fun and laughter

We then do Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon shortly after

Back to Alice Springs before flying east

Arrive in Cairns ready for the Great Barrier Reef

Next is sailing around Whitsundays on a liveaboard ship

If there is heaven on earth then surely this is it!?

Two nights of paradise and wonderful sights

I'll gaze up at the stars and think of home each night

Airlie Beach, Rockhampton and Fraser Island follow

Then The Gold Coast and Byron Bay where surfers go

The tranquil Myall Lakes is the next place to visit

Then on to Sydney, where the tour ends… we have been busy!!

A few days in Sydney with soooo much to see

Then fly to Auckland for a tour called the 'Grand Kiwi'

Here a new bunch of friends I will make

Ready for the adventures, beautiful scenery and lakes

The Bay of Islands is where it begins

Then Rotorua for fascinating cultural things

We'll see waterfalls and mountains as we head south

Then visit the capital - Wellington, for a night out!

We wave goodbye to the north island, southward bound

And enjoy our boat trip to Picton via the serene Marlborough Sounds

Then onwards to Nelson for a couple of days

Kayaking around Abel Tasman is sure to amaze!!

Christchurch is the next place for us to go

Then stay at Flock Hill Station, taking things slow

We then move on to Franz Joseph for the night

And marvel at the scenic Fox Glacier whilst taking a hike

Stunning mountains and lakes we'll see as we head down

As the next place to visit is adventure capital Queenstown!!

Loads of activities to choose from including a shotover jet

What else will I do? I haven't decided yet…!!!

We'll then head for the fiords via the Mirror Lake

Then an overnight cruise on the Tasman Sea we will take

Next stops are Te Anau and the Kawarau river

The familiar 'Lord of the Rings' scenery bound to give me shivers

Yet more amazing lakes and then Mount Cook

Crikey, I'll have done sooo much I'll be able to write a book!!!

Then Christchurch again where my tour will end

So I'll have to say farewell to my travelling friends

I'll have a couple of days in Fiji before returning

Hoping to do a skydive, but my tummy will be churning!!

And then my travels will come to a close

Flying back via LA, pondering what I enjoyed the most

Oh my gosh, I'm going to miss you all sooooooo much

tina I'm sorry, I haven't looked at the site for a couple of days...won't make that mistake again. I thought I'd give it a quick look, 30mins later and the other halfs wondering where his tea is and his slippers aren't even warmed! Looked at your pics in backwards order for some reason.
