Since our last blog we have caught up on our history and had three lovely days in Kanchanaburi, visiting museums, sights of war memrobilia, waterfalls, national parks and a doing a Thai cooking course!
We had a fantastic time doing everything it has been one of the best places we have been so far, the cooking course was amazing we spent time at a local market where all the produce was so fresh that I ducked fish jumping from the scales to the chopping boards, frogs trying to escape from dishes and bowls of eels splashing the floor with water in every direction! Luckily our ingredients where pre-prepared...we just had to cook them! It really was a good laugh and a chance to try some of the things you might not otherwise try and will now never try again!!
But we have to keep moving and safely made it out of Thailand and touched down on Laos soil at around half 7/8 this morning, (after a very uncomfy 10h coach ride!) We had to pay to leave Thailand, for a Visa for Laos (which included overtime as its Saturday!) and then more money to just walk into Laos...so you can imagine the greeting the taxi and tuk-tuk drivers got when they than asked me "where you go?...good price!"...i'll put it this way; we wasn't bothered for a while thats for sure!
We did make it into town after my abuse to the locals...someone still wanted to take us! We found a quaint French hotel and had bfast in a Scandinavian Bakery...our first impression are that the place is a bit crazy! But have already booked our first excursion for tomorrow and involves 'tubing' down the Mekong River!
We hope you enjoy the pictures now that they are all on the blog and in a more legible order; we are going to be busy the next few days so will have plenty more to go on soon! Lots of love to everyone, hope you are all well xxx
