April 1st



Had a bit of a restless night but managed to sleep quite well albeit in just one position. The other guests are off on a day ride with a picnic and a swim in the lake with their horses. Not sure that I would have done the swimming bit, but sounds like fun for a more confident swimmer. So I waved goodbye at breakfast and settled down for a quiet day.

The good news is that my wonderful insurance company have rung me this morning and have confirmed my upgrade to Business Class with a flat bed. I am hoping to be able to get on the upper deck by a window as the medical agent I spoke to suggested it would be the safest option. Nobody can drop anything on me and break a few more ribs. He has also arranged assistance for both end of the journey. It should speed me through customs so maybe I can smuggle through a few extra ciggies for the girls!! I feel a lot happier now that I know I shall be more comfortable and haven't got to worry about wheeling my luggage around.


 So it’s a sunbathing day with a good book. The good news is that I have finally run out of skin and am no longer shedding so I don’t look so horrific anymore!



I have been playing with the puppies again, they are all so active. The horses have let themselves out again. They only have a pole or two across the front of the corral, so if they get bored they just hop over and wander all over the place! They don't go far, they know when they're well off.



 It is a beautiful day today, cloudless blue skies and a lovely temperature. There are two more guests arriving today from Mexico City for Easter and another Air France crew for the day. It is the start of the Easter holidays here in Mexico, so lots of celebrations going on in town. I think Uschi has plans to take us down one evening to join in the fun. Hope it’s not tonight though – I probably need another quiet day to aid the healing.

I’m off now for a spot of sunbathing – it’s a hard life if you don’t weaken!
