Saigon – as crazy as Hanoi with the traffic but somewhat more developed and nicer we think. Visited the war cemetery which was really interesting and probably one of the best tourist attractions we have visited for moneys worth! Not the usual photo clicking opportunities more time to think and reflect the atrocities that occurred during the Vietnam War. Also went on a day trip to see the CuChi tunnels – which the Vietcong communist soldiers built to hide and assist the resistance and attack the Americans. These were really interesting as we got to enter some of them, which was tight as we walked through hem for about 10 minutes in the dark and it was well hot, not as cool as you would expect being underground. Off to Cambodia tomorrow morning (mon 4th) at 6am for a 6 hour bus journey – however, this bus has a loo and we have packed up our provisions! Thanks for you mails and messages, Sharon great to hear from you – an epic as I expected, Shirl as usual great to see you on there using the laptop, we have taken an extra special pic just for you – its in the muine folder. Dad thanks for your informative mails and your help with everything, think you will enjoy the tunnel photographs. Clare happy belated 30th – your catching up to me, Paris sounded great.
